The Carter Centre is a modern, multi-purpose conference facility located on the grounds of The Southdown Institute. The Centre is available for leadership teams, formation directors, pastoral teams and parish councils, healthcare professionals and educators who would like a quiet, inviting and comfortable facility for meetings, seminars, planning sessions or retreats.

The conference rooms can be set up to meet the needs of groups ranging from 5 to 100. On the upper level there are 15 tastefully decorated private bedrooms – seven with adjoining sitting rooms and all with private baths – designed to accommodate smaller groups engaged in multi-day conferences and seminars.

A meditation room with a large bay window allows guests to enjoy the beauty that surrounds the Centre as they pray and reflect. The foyer and great room share a fireplace that adds extra warmth on chilly fall and winter evenings. Use of the landscaped grounds and extensive walking trails of Southdown is encouraged.
